AMP SYMPOSIUM

The Academy of Management Perspectives (AMP) in a unique journal that seeks to provide leading scholarship in theory and public policy. Authors develop connections between management evidence and public policy concerns by (i) critically assessing the impact of management theory and research on public policy; (ii) summarizing empirical evidence to emphasize their policy implications; (iii) identifying policy concerns that should motivate the development of new management theory and research; and/or (iv) establishing a research agenda that informs public policy. The goal of AMP is not to test hypothesis but to synthesize learnings from the available data. This perspective can be challenging and new for many scholars.

To help scholars develop research for AMP, we are holding an AMP Symposium on March 31st. This all-day event starts with a Professional Development Workshop led by AMP editors, and concludes with a second workshop focused on an upcoming special issue (SI) of AMP “Exceptionalism And Outliers: Advancing Management Theory And Public Policy From Power Law Distributions In Growth-Driven Phenomena”, led by the SI editors.

Attendees are welcome to attend both parts, but may attend either depending on their preferences, interests and needs.
