Sebastian Roccatani is the founder of PairIt, a home services marketplace that connects homeowners with local contractors in minutes. Homeowners can post jobs and receive quotes from contractors, while contractors replace time spent chasing low-quality leads with a steady feed of relevant local jobs.
What drew you to entrepreneurship?
I've been interested in entrepreneurship. Having two parents who are entrepreneurs, I was always inspired by their journeys and wanted to pursue my own venture.
What problem are you solving, and what is your unique approach?
At one end, my business venture aims to solve the issue that new independent contractors experience when joining the trades and connected industries. Contrary to the existing, high-cost marketplace models and traditional advertising, our platform makes high-quality leads accessible without breaking the bank.
For homeowners, PairIt offers elevated convenience and utility when aiming to find the right fit for your home service needs by allowing homeowners to post their jobs and receive quotes from contractors they know are interested.
How did you come across this problem, and why did it appeal to you?
My father is an independent electrical contractor, and after having a conversation with him, we formed the idea together. It appealed to me because of the personal connection and the realness of the problems contractors face.
What are you hoping to accomplish for your start-up at ESI?
Have a launchable and scalable product with full knowledge of who my customer is, and to create the foundation for PairIt to become the go-to home services platform across Ontario and Canada.
