Eric Morse 

A pioneer and legend in the banking industry. Arkadi Kuhlmann first introduced the world to direct banking when he founded ING Direct Canada in 1996

 

Arkadi Kuhlmann 

I'm an immigrant, like a lot of other people, right? And so, you know, I was always the outside person, and I had to fight my way in, and I had to perform to get accepted. And when you roll that forward, and now you get in a position where you have funding, you're trying to build a team, you're trying to build camaraderie, you want to be colleagues and so on, those lessons of disappointment and difficulty and challenges get you to be very empathetic and very sympathetic to what other people are going through trying to actually fit in.

Google, Microsoft, Twitter and the Weather Network. Rory Capern has really done it all.

 

Rory Capern 

So don't fall into the business hole. There's a lot of things to understand, human psychology, economics. (Stay curious) Exactly. And I think the strength of that comes out in two different ways. One is, I think you can build a better product if you understand the world from a bunch of the world from a bunch of different perspectives. But two is in the ability to relate to others.

Because it was a software company I had sort of put everything in place that you needed to put for the legal part of the business. And I went to the CEO, and I said, Look, you know, this isn't interesting for me anymore. And he said, Okay, well, why don't you take on some product marketing and some business development. And so the beautiful thing about startups is there's always, like, too many things to do, and if you just raise your hand, you will get given stuff, the
